Hey family,
Alright, so here it goes. We had a way good week, fulfilled all the mission goals that they have set for us, and even went beyond them in lessons, new investigators, investigators in church, all that. We had 7 people come to church this week and it was awesome! A little chaotic trying to get people to introduce themselves and get people to sit by them and whatnot, but so worth it! Also, because some of those people came to church yesterday, there are 4, maybe 5 that are going to get baptized this weekend! 1 of them is Suzanas daughter Silvia, the other is Silvias son Facundo, and then her niece Jessica, and maybe Suzanas granddaughter Sofia, and last but not least, Rosa Juarez. Im SUPER stoked for this weekend. Its gonna be a soul savin party! Were trying to get Rosa´s son Argentino to baptize her because he is a member and has the priesthood.
We will probly have at least 5 more baptisms before the month is over, and a lot of that is because were focusing on finding all the less actives in our area in the member directory. We go and find their houses, start talking with them, and then if they have kids that arent baptized, we talk with them and we start activating their family by baptizing their kids. Were going to have at least 4 from that i think from the less actives that weve already found. We found one lady in that little pueblito of San Andres and she has 2 kids who arent baptized. Her son Lautaro is a freakin stud that knows like everything about the bible but wants to read the Book of Mormon too. He just wants to know everything. We also had a meeting with the ward mission leader the other day and apparently me and my comp are now the only ones in charge of San Andres.....so our massive area just got even bigger. Its super hard to balance it all. But were doin it!
Also, we have an investigator named Cristian, who is the friend of a member named Victor. Victor recently started to re-activate and brought Cristian to a lesson with him one time. Cristian is evangelical and knows a ton about the bible. He was pretty interested and came to church last week and liked it and everything, but we went to his house the other day and he told us that he received a voice in his head one day that basically told him he was going to enter into apostasy, and he took that as his answer that his religion is true. But he still agrees to meet with us, so were gonna keep doing our best with him. We were talking with Victor about him the other day and we found out that Cristian is dating his pastor´s daughter, so that could be a giant reason that he doesnt want to change.....we´ll see haha
As with all comps, me and mine have had some struggles, but we get over them. Hes Latino, and from that he doesnt really understand the meaning of a schedule. Its really hard to get him to leave the apartment on time, and it frustrates me sometimes. Once we get out we work our butts off and get stuff done, but a lot of times we leave late. But hes getting better. Im trying not to get mad too, cuz contention is of the devil! He´s still super cocky too, but i kind of dropped cane on him the other day for that and have prideful he is and hes toned it down a little bit. At least hes humble enough to accept what i say and try to fix it.
But yeah, i think thats about it for this week! We are gonna baptize everyone in this area if it kills us! haha but look forward to more success in the coming weeks, and a lot more baptism photos!
